What is respite care?
If a person’s primary caregiver takes a break or is unwell, ‘respite care’ is when a professional care worker steps in to take over their duties and provide continuity of care. We always try to match people with care workers they’ll get along well with, so make sure you tell us about your loved one’s hobbies and interests during our initial call.
How long does respite care last?
We can provide care for as long as you need us – whether it’s an afternoon, a month, or until further notice. That makes respite care a great option for people who don’t usually receive care but have recently been discharged from hospital. We step in with the extra support to help speed up their recovery.
